Mötley Crüe has had fascinating previous decade. The band introduced their breakup in 2014 by signing a “cessation of touring agreement” and performed their “final” present at Staples Heart in Los Angeles, CA on December 31, 2015.
Then in 2018, Mötley Crüe reconvened to document 4 new songs for his or her biopic The Dust. Rumors began circulating in 2019 {that a} reunited Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard would hit the highway for an enormous tour, which was ultimately confirmed and started in 2022 because of COVID. Extra just lately, Mötley Crüe guitarist Mick Mars retired from the band as a touring member in 2022 and was changed by John 5.
Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard are at present out on the highway once more, and bassist Nikki Sixx assures everybody that it isn’t a farewell tour. Removed from it, really. In an interview with A Rádio Rock carried out this previous December (and uploaded on March 7), Sixx mentioned he and the band want to preserve going till their 50th anniversary in 2031.
“We just did those four songs for The Dirt soundtrack,” mentioned Sixx. “We’re just about locked down proper now. We’re having conversations past [2023]. So what’s ’24 appear like for us in a touring capability? So far as new music — I feel new music at all times comes when the band is getting alongside. We get alongside so nice proper now. We have been having one of the best time. We spend time collectively. We exit to dinner.
“Tommy just had his 60th-birthday party [in October] down in Mexico, and he invited a small group of his very good friends. And I was there, and a bunch of cool Tommy‘s friends. All of our wives were there. John 5 came in. And it was just cool to be able to not talk business, be in rehearsal, get on the phone, talk about the photo shoot or the video. It was just hanging out, walking on the beach. And we had some sweet conversations.
“Me and Tommy and Vince had this conversation. I said, ‘What are you guys doing for the next eight years?’ And everybody’s laughing: ‘I don’t know.’ I said ‘Why don’t we just keep going? Let’s just take it to 50 [years].’ So this isn’t a final tour. What does that look like? I have no idea. I’m just telling you, you have the band saying, ‘We’re having a blast. Why stop?'”
It is fascinating that Sixx leaves the door open for change sooner or later, saying “What does [the future] look like? I have no idea.” Although above all, and regardless of opinions circulating on the web, if Mötley Crüe and the followers are having fun with themselves then go for it – stick round till 2031 or past. And for individuals who don’t love what they’re seeing or listening to, not going to a present or listening is an possibility too.
